As founder of Music Maker Relief Foundation, a nonprofit that champions elderly roots musicians, Duffy has been able to gain intimate relationships with the people and places that define the American South. Duffy's work is re-contextualizing the narrative that defines the 'Southern conversation'. Duffy and 21st Editions previously collaborated on Our Living Past, an exhibition of Duffy’s portraits in platinum prints produced by 21st Editions. The exhibit premiered at the Atrium Gallery of the Hartsfield Jackson Airport and will continue on to the Huntsville Museum of Art, the Alexandria Museum of Art and the Gregg Museum of Art and Design.
“These portraits, while perfecting the tintype process, embrace and articulate the soul of Timothy’s subjects unlike anything I have ever seen. This work deserves a presentation that in and of itself embodies the soul of the creative spirit and of humanity,” says Publisher of 21st Editions, Steven Albahari.
